Consider the Lamb - Pre-order

This painting started with one question I couldn’t shake…

What were they really asking for when they cried, “Hosanna”?

They were praising Him.
Welcoming Him.
Hoping He would save them.

But I kept wondering if they understood what that actually meant.

They were expecting a king—
someone who would overthrow their enemies and restore their world.

But He came as the Lamb.

Not to save them from Rome…
but to save them from sin, from death, from everything they would ever face in this life.

As I painted, I added lilies scattered along the path.

“Consider the lilies… how they grow: they toil not.”

They don’t fight to live.
They don’t strive to become.

And maybe that’s what the crowd didn’t see.

They were looking for a kind of salvation that required power and visible victory…

But He was offering something deeper—
a salvation that invites us to trust, to receive, and to let Him do what we never could.

That’s why I named this piece Consider the Lamb.

Because maybe the invitation isn’t just to praise Him…

…but to truly understand Him.
